Summary
binomial(n, i) binomial(i, k) summed over i from k (or zero, the terms
below k being zero) to n: 2^(n - k) binomial(n, k) (Thm 8.4.6's second
form, §8.4.5). A subset of i and a subset of k of that is a subset of
k and a subset of the rest to go with it,
binomial(n, i) binomial(i, k) = binomial(n, k) binomial(n - k, i - k), and the
second sums to 2^(n - k).
